Sikkens Cetol WP 566 is a waterborne, pigmented translucent dipping, flow-coating, brushing machine and vacuum coater primer for exterior wooden components. Primers are the connection between wooden surfaces and coatings. Their composition influences way the final coats perform, so it's vitally important to choose the correct primer for the job you are doing.
This base coat for exterior wooden components can be tinted to any colour from the Joinery Color Classics or Never Ending Impressions collections with lightfast, weather resistant translucent pigments. The optical impression of the individual translucent colours on different substrates and with different layer thicknesses is different; therefore, sample coatings on the substrate prior to use. Medium to highly pigmented translucent colours are more weather-resistant than low-pigmented colours. Colourless coatings are not suitable for outdoor use. It also displays deep penetration, good run-off and colouring properties.
It can be deluged using Dipping, Flow Coating, Brushing Machine or Vacuum Coater onto a variety of stable wooden components like Windows, Outer Doors, Conservatories and semi-stable wooden components like Rafters, Gates, Shutters and Posts.

AFTER CARE
After 4 Hours of drying, lightly denib if required. Apply Kodrin WV 456 End Grain Sealer as appropriate. It applys white but dries clear. Apply Kodrin V Joint Sealer as appropriate. Apply a thin layer as it is a sealer not a filler. Available as a cartridge, Kodrin WV 472 or as a bottle, Kodrin WV 457. Please see our categories on Sealants, End Grain Sealers and Fillers for further advice.
Apply two coats (Mid Coat and Topcoat) of Cetol WF 960 (Mid Sheen), Cetol WF 965 (Higher Sheen) or Cetol WF 945 (Lower Sheen). All options are Tintable to create more intense shades.
Due to the high chemical resistance of Waterbased Topcoats, the packaging used does not usually cause problems. We recommend high-density polythene. PVC or Pluriball are not suitable.
