Available in a number of sheen levels, this clear, 2K Polyurethane Lacquer has been specially formulated for coating Oak and other timber substrates. Sayerlack’s TU61**/00 can achieve the same results in one coat as two coats of conventional PU Lacquer. It exhibits a superb speed of drying enabling sanding in as little as 10 minutes. Displaying good resistance to domestic detergents and foodstuffs, it is ideal for Kitchens and Doors. Activation with TH0727/00 and thinning with DT1150/00.

PREPARATION
The substrate can be stained with the application of water based stains like AC0600/XX mixed with XX4130/00 binder or solvent based stains like XM8000/XX stain with binder AX2004/00. Denib when dry. For best results, we suggest preparing the surface using 240-320 grit stearate abrasives as they provide a higher efficiency than conventional. Ensure the surface is completely clean of dust and debris before coating.
A preliminary check is recommended for application on very porous wood.
APPLICATION
With good drying conditions and air circulation (20°C), a good build can be achieved with three coats of 150 g/m² with an interval of 60 minutes in between. Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity can lead to longer drying times, but it is possible to speed up drying using heated ovens.
AFTER CARE
Due to the high chemical resistance of Polyurethane Topcoats, the packaging used does not usually cause problems. We recommend high-density polythene. PVC or Pluriball are not suitable.
ALTERNATIVE HARDENERS/THINNERS
Sayerlack TH0720/00 @ 50% for increased wettability and non-yellowing.
