Polurethane coatings work better over a Sanding Sealer as they reduce grain raising. Certain closed and semi-closed pore wood species benefit greatly using one as they lock in contaminating resins from the timber, reduce the number of subsequent coats needed by stopping absorption, improve adhesion, vertical hold and excellent sanding.
